Hands-on Earth workshop on 'Maati Shilp: Understanding 'Maati' as building Material' from 30th March to 01st April 2026
A 3-Day hands-on Workshop on Maati-Shilp: Understanding 'Maati' as a building material was conducted for the 1st year students in the Department of Architecture from 30th March to 1st April, 2026. Students began the first day by learning about the properties of the earth as a construction material through various tests, including the disc, sieve, strength, and element tests, among others. Followed by practical application of the same by creating a mixture by pugging, making the plastering samples, creating rammed earth, adobe, and straw-clay blocks of different shapes and sizes, leading to the actual construction of an adobe wall with Arch and mud plastering.
Fundamentals of Steel structure:19th to 23rd February2026
The Department of Architecture is organizing a workshop on fundamentals and performance of steel structure. The program will provide both theoretical insights and practical exposure through design and evaluation of structure analysis. Experts from academics and industry will engage participants in hands-on training, expert lectures, and interactive sessions. Designed for architecture students, the workshop emphasizes fundamental concepts of steel structure with an emphasis on truss and portal frames.
The workshop will cover the following topics:-
Fundamental design concepts of steel structure.
Standards and codes related to steel joineries.
Site visit- real time case studies.
Steel roof system with an emphasis on truss and portal frames.
Development and Evaluation of 3D digital and physical models.
